I take it from the lack of any posts on here that nobody saw Bittern on Thursday working from York to Newcastle restricted by weather conditions to 50 mph.
But on the return trip to York it was given its head and reports are that 93 - 94 was achieved for a considerable mileage.
66 minutes and 20 seconds a start to stop average of over 72 mph.

Saturdays run is planned for 90 between
Colton Jct. - Arksey
Askham -Newark Crossing
Stoke Summit - Peterborough
Abbots Ripton - Arlesey

G'Day Gents

Don't get to hear everything that happens in the UK steam scene, but it is nice to know that certain loco's are being allowed to run at 90mph, I did watch a video of Bittern on the Western region doing 90, a little while back, even better now that it's on home territory, she'll have to be careful coming down 'Stoke' as she'll want to do a 'Ton'
