Did any of the GCR coaches(in particular the suburban stock built for the London Extension) receive Gresley bogies at any point or did they retain the bogies they were built with right until withdrawal?
Also when did the GC coaches begin to be withdrawn? Did many survive in BR service as pasenger stock or receive a BR number and livery?
The reason I ask is that I'm considering building some GCR suburban coach kits, and it was planning to paint them either in early BR crimson or maroon, and run them with MK1 suburbans...

A lot of GC stock survived in revenue earning service into the 1950's. Which suburban designs are you referring to ??, the earlier 50 ft non corridor stock or the later matchboard non corridor 60 ft stock . As to the Gresley bogie question ...as far as I'm aware no ex GC stock ran on them ( brace for incoming !!) but that's no problem as parts for both 8ft and 10ft 6" bogies are available ..depending upon what scale you model in .
Cheers Tony.

Chris
The North Eastern Design website is non-functional at present as John Fozzard passed away unexpectedly mid year.

At what point in BR days did Stanier coaches start appearing on the GC? Was it after the LMR took over in 1958 or did they start appearing before that?
I currently have 5 Stanier coaches in blood & custard on my layout, if they didn't run on the GC regularly until after '58 then I'll be getting rid of them in favour of MK1's and Gresley coaches...
