I am just about to start on a set of Parker ex GCR stock from D&S.
These coaches were originally built with Gould vestiblues and I presume buckeye couplers - photographic evidence supports this. However at some time in their life, they appear to have been fitted with BSVs presumably to make it easier to connect with other ex GCR stock.
Has anyone any idea when this happened and are my suppositions correct? My models will be C1938.

Re: Ex GCR Parker Corridor Stock
Dow confirms that the stock originally had Gould vestibules and automatic couplers.
Some of the short Parker corridor stock built for the opening of the Marylebone line was used in the early 1930s on the Hull-Liverpool services via Doncaster and Sheffield. The NERA produced May 1932 Carriage Roster for the NE Area describes two sets, here is the second:
Working 584. G C Stock. FLBS, TLBS, 2BTBS - 4 (20F 72T) .... 112 tons.
There is a picture of a Director on one of these services in the appropriate Locomotives Illustrated.
Whilst Carriage Rosters are not always reliable, particularly with stock from outside the Area, the BS means the carriages are fitted with British Standard gangways. When the change took place I don't know, but clearly well before your 1938 era Nick.
Hope this helps.

Re: Ex GCR Parker Corridor Stock
The parker stock was rebuilt before 1910. Not only were the Gould coupling and pullman gangways replace but the narrow beading on the lower panels was replace with a wider one. Some edition for Haresnapes & Rowledge's 'Robinson Locomotives' have a photo of Atlantic 260 and train of parker stock on the front endpapers which shows the replacement beading well. I can scan this photo for you if you can't find a copy.

Thanks for that. I knew it must have been changed at some stage, but did not know when!
