From the look of it number 9 only had charge of the train for about a mile.
If it had come down from Shildon then it must have gone down the freight lines round Holgate then reversed.
So the Deltic KOYLI would actually have had the major part to play.
No film of that bit then?

No8 went by road to York Carraige Works and then top n tailed by 55002 and 60009 with the 37 on for a trip move form the South Yard.

Must have been a sight to behold! Reminds me of the occasion earlier this year when I saw Tornado on the M6 - she'd been visiting Llangollen & was returning home on a low-loader with her tender following behind on a second one. Overtaking an A1 in a Peugeot gave one a rather strange feeling...

I read the words "Dwight...York"....and thought the bloke had retired from professional football ages ago.
