The Silver A4's

Post by 4904lonewarrior »

Does anyone know if the silver A4's (Silver Link, Quicksilver, Silver King & Silver Fox) were ever repainted into the garter blue livery before WWII? If so can someone show me any photo's of any of these loco's in that colour? Thanks.

It is also probably worth mentioning that 2512 retained her stainless steel boiler bands, steam pipe and handrails when in Garter Blue together with a dark red backed chromed nameplate.
