It's a mighty fine piece of film, that and No. 9 has always had the reputation of going like a rocket. The chap driving the car must know how fast she was going and from the way he cuts through the traffic it must be over 70.... I think it might be best to appreciate the film and leave it at that, unless anyone who was there or involved is prepared to make a definitive statement?

Very much like the recent film of Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, only better subject matter! :D Don't tell my colleagues at Tyseley! :oops:

Filmed by (I believe) the same people over the same stretch of line more recently. You ought to find it on YouTube in fairly short order.

Someone did post a link on here IIRC.

Ay up!

She's certainly giving it big licks, that's for sure. Always a nice sight, a loco working hard.

Don't forget the up-to-10% leeway allowed in speedo calibration.
