Tender numbering
A thought I had reading about the tenders of the A4's, and that it is recorded that 60009 has the 1928 design tender from the Hush-Hush (no 5828?) - how often were tenders replaced/rebuilt during their lives, and from which point were they numbered? Were they numbered by the manufacturer, or from a central register taking into account all tenders built, be they for domestic use or export? How were imported tenders counted into the numbering?

Anything weird or unusual will catch my interest, be it an express or locomotive
I'm also drawn to the commemorative, let's hope Bachmann will produce 6165 Valour.

Re: Tender numbering
I suggest that you get hold of a copy of RCTS Part 10A when you will find all you need in there.

Re: Tender numbering
Have a look at this site..
Go to the drop down menu on the left.
Select Chime,
then archives,
then drop down to " A tangle of Tenders",
a four part article you may find useful.

Re: Tender numbering
Thank you. I'll be perusing my dad's RCTS 10a when I'm next over for that and the 4-8-2's
