Very poor viewing at the Engine sheds . Luckily the shunter moved so I could take some of SNG. Bittern was hidden at the back on a remote siding , very disapointing 0/5 NYMR

When we restored the Buffet Car back in the 1980's we reverted the roof vents back to original spec (including the large vents over the bar area which were modified from BR ones). However in LNER days the kitchen did not have full cooking facilities so did not have a large vent there. As 641 has a cooker in it and requires good ventilation we decided to leave the BR spinning cowl in place over the fan.
I know I regret it every time I walk over the footbridge and see it below!
