Is there a specific colour code for silvers? ie the silvergrey/battleship grey/charcoal grey.
Which of the silver A4 worked without the valences in there silver livery and what period.

Welcome to the forums Hornby Dublo
I'm afraid I can't answer the first part of your question, but none of the A4's worked in silver without valances.
The only 'instance' where an A4 is shown in silver without valances is 'Spencer' from TTTE
Could you change the thread title to something more appropriate like 'A4 silver colour code' please?
It just helps with the organisation of the forums etc

I have no choice with valences as my Hornby Dublo 3 rail model was made without them .
Only the prewar Sir Nigel Gresley had them and there to expensive just to relivery
.

Thanks for changing the topic name
A quick google search brings up this:

If you visit your local B&Q, you could probably get the correct colours mixed from this graphic of hornby's current offering:

Ay up!
For the train make up, try this link:

As for the coaches, Cooper Craft do kits for them but you'll need to work out from Elegant Steam which to buy:

You've got me thinking - I've got a Bachmann 2510. In silver.

Hi Hornby Dublo,
I have post-war Hornby Dublo metal locos to which I have added brass or aluminium valances, so they can be re-liveried to look like 1937/38 locos. They work well for me. Please see topic here
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6826&p=59681&hilit=sea+eagle#p59576
I also would like to do one in the Silver series. However the HD tender is incorrect for those, unless I do a new brass or tinplate side sheet, which curves over at the top near the coal receptacle, without the horizontal 2" moulding. I have not sweated through the details yet, on this possible modification.
regards
Kimball

Nice artical. How is the tender differant for the silver jubilee, are there any pics of the stream lined tender.I was just going to repaint and not alter it.
The top of a tender can be alterd as i have done with my second tender for Bittern .By useing a second corridoor end inplace of the coal end and extending the plastic top .It needs a peice putting in then carbody filler over the coal area ,sand it down to shape and paint .The chassie has also been adapted and a second rear bogie fitted at the front together with to buffers fitted. The sides of the body have had the front curve trimed .This has made it slightly short on the chassie but nessercery to fit squarly with the extra corridoor end,so the need to reposition the body equaly meen the slots in the chassie need to be extened at one end.
