Trying to do more research before I launch into both starting a model of the Ramsey turbo-electric and finishing my MacLeod turbo-mechanical. The MacLeod is shown to have carried the number 23141 in various pictures, but what number did it's predecessor carry? It obviously carried one as the view in the IET publication on electric railways shows the No. on the left side of the bufferbeam, but what was its number? Any help would be most appreciated.

Got pictures of both ends of the Reid Ramsay and no number is shown. I have seen the picture that you refer to and it must have had a number, Lost Perhaps in the sands of time, I would just leave the number off your model as it looks as if that could also be correct.

Fair enough. I'll keep a look out for it though, just in case.

How are you getting on with your models of the turbine? I'm also interested in it.

The MacLeod is nearly done - put the tank fillers on the other day (LMS-style, wrong but who'll tell when it's running past). Working up to thinking about lining out, looking at printing my own off so that I can tailor them to fit. Looking for replacement smoke unit after I burnt the fitted one out.
The Ramsey is still on the drawing board at the moment - got the parts for it, just a case of sitting down and getting on with it.
I will post more pictures in the models forum soon.
