North Eastern Railway P3 (J27) cab windows
Does anyone know when the NER P3's started to be fitted with the larger cab windows, following on from their introduction on the T2's (Q6's)? If it's not too specific, I'd like to know which ones were the first to receive them too.

Re: North Eastern Railway P3 (J27) cab windows
If you mean the forward facing cab windows changing from circular 'spectacle' front windows, then twenty-two P2/J26 locomotives received this change between 1914 - 1922, with twenty-eight keeping their original circular windows. I believe that all P3/J27s had been so converted by Grouping in 1923, so we would only have the twenty-eight P2/J26s sporting circular windows during both LNER & BR periods of steam - Both P2/J26 & P3/J27 being externally identical to each other.
