ex-GNR and GCR Refrigerator Vans Livery

Tatlow Vol.1 Page 58/59 shows two refrogerator vans. The bodies are of course white. But what colour are the solebars? Black? Brown?
Note that the van on Page 59 has one headstock end (the nearest end) white but the one at the far end is the solebar colour!
