Connections between engine and tender - A4 class

There are several photos of the front of 8-whl tenders in the Yeadon volume of LNER tenders - each showing several bags (pipes /hoses) for the water and vacuum. What puzzles me is that some of pictures show three bags of large diameter (say 3") and one of small diameter (say 1"?) whilst others show four large and one small bags.

I expected to see two water connections, one vacuum connections and one steam heat connection. Why do some tenders have five connections?

I believe that I can identify the one vacuum connection and the two water connections. Where is the steam heat connection under the drag box? What is the purpose of the small diameter bag?

2 water, 1 steam, 1 vacuum train pipe and 1 vacuum chamber. The chamber side was the opposite side of the brake cylinder to the application side. A reservoir was provided to mitigate the effects of the brake application on the pressure at the opposite side of the piston to improve the effiency of the brake.

Thank you for explaining the purpose of the five pipes under the front dragbox. I think that the 2 water flexibles are of the larger diameter and located towards the centre of the tender... and that the vacuum train pipe is another larger diameter flexible which is located to the left hand side of centre (looking at the tender front). With reference to a photo of a tender with five flexibles, the remaining flexibles are:-

[1] a smaller diameter flexible to the left of centre, between the centre line and the train pipe connection.
[2] a larger diameter flexible to the right of centre.

At this point I think that connection [1] is the vacuum reservoir flexible and that connection [2] is the steam heat flexible. Is this correct?
