Can anyone please provide further detail concerning the modifications made to carriage interior lighting during WW2 to conform to blackout regulations? I'm currently putting together some notes against an ex-NE Area Carriage Working Programme for 1943-1944 and there are specific statements against either certain workings, or certain carriages in a working:
1 White Lighted Stock (only against a few daytime workings);
2 Higher Standard Slot Lighted Vehicles.
Whilst I can make some inspired guesses I wish to ensure that whatever I write is accurate and provides a practical explanation to readers. Also are there any additions to the above classifications?
TIA
