Has anyone else noticed the family likeness between the NBR Reid Atlantics and the Royal Scots?
Both classes were built by the North British Locomotive Co. – or am I seeing something that’s not there.

But have you noticed the similarities between the Royal Scots and the B17s? again both NBL locos.

I suppose the real answer is in knowing what the NBL was building at the time for the railways of the empire – I bet there are plenty of similarities there.

C Hamilton Ellis suggests the GCR Atlantic drawings were referred to by NBL. These locos were built by NBL around the time of construction of Reid's Atlantics.
