J19/2 tender

Hello,
I’m building a model of a J19/2. The GERS drawings state the balance pipes were not fitted to the tender if no scoop was fitted. Can I also assume the water scoop associated dome was not fitted either ?
Can anyone point me at a photo showing the rear tender decking?
I don’t want to get this wrong.

You could contact the GERS about the tender as Lyn Brooks may be able to help.
I would caution you that John Gardner's J19/2 drawing does not show the caps over the ends of the piston valve rods. Isinglass J19/2 drawing does show these that are also evident in photos.

Sorry, but I have just found that you may be building from PDK kit, in which case my previous posting appears to be in error. However, from photos on the PDK website it appears that the coupling rods are articulated to the rear of the crankpin whereas in common with other GER 0-6-0s inherited by the LNER - with the exception of the J15 - articulation would have been on the crankpin itself.

Won't help you much with the tender, Bob, but it's fairly definitive on the coupling rods.

Firstly GER Drawing L19 shows/refers to the 3,450 and 3,500gal tenders, but also in the notes suggests the preserved J17 tender as an example. You could contact the NRM. Isinglass drawing No 447 shows neither balancing pipes or dome.

The model I’m building is the Ace J19/2 in 7mm. 😧 It’s a rehash from the earlier J19 kit with Belpaire firebox. The tender seems to have been lifted from the D16/3. I will build the tender sans dome and balancing pipes. At the front, photos suggest many had the plating behind the handrails and some a small handrail on the front side plates of the tender. I’m working from photos where possible and the plan is to produce 64646.
It’s going to be a long journey.

Just to add the pic I was using ( rail on line) is earlier and shows the cycling lion emblem and the small hand rails on the tender. Clearly a tender swap. I shall base the model on the later pic, thanks.
