Does anyone have any details on the final weeks of Union of South Africa on the mainline please?
Particularly the ECML. I understand the boiler certificate expires 23rd April and I’m hoping the owner, John Cameron, will have plans to show it off on its home ground for one last time.
Thanks. Eric

I am sure it will go out in a flourish not a whimper. Hopefully will get a ticket
Or it could be like Frank Sinatra and have several last tours!!! Which isn't a bad thing

G'day Gents
When 60009, comes off the mainline, am I right in thinking, there won't be 'any' A4's on the mainline until 60007 comes back ??

Re: 60009 Countdown
Quite correct Manna. Looks like you may not have to wait too long as no.7's boiler was recently reunited with her frames. Only downside is the toy town blue livery it's worn for too long. Back to Brunswick I say!
Re: 60009 Countdown
Sorry but I love the blue livery, there are far too many preserved green locos

All being well even if she doesn't get to run on the mainline again, she will still get some use on the ELR.
