Good day all and compliments to all readers

This may seem a silly question concerning brakes.

With the standardisation of vacuum brakes after 1928, were the carriages also treated?

I think not as there are many photos of post 1928 locos with Westinghouse equipment.

Did rolling stock fitted with Westinghouse brakes, remain so fitted?

The former Jazz services remained air braked. Much of the rest of the GE went vacuum only, but I have photos of carriages after 1948 still showing a westinghouse pipe. I think the NE area eliminated air brakes altogether.

The Green books and Yeadon are in agreement, 4739 was vacuum braked only.
