Were the KAs borrowed from the SR during the war painted green or did they get the black treatment?

Hi 52D,
Richard Derry notes in his book on King Arthurs that 10 N15 Urie engines 739, 740, 742, 744 & 747-751 were sent north on October 1942. If the records for these are correct 739, 740, 742, 747 were painted unlined black by the Southern before going to work on the LNER. 744, 747, 749, 750 & 751appear to have gaps in their service / repair records between 1942 LNER operating dates & their return to the Southern in 1943. They may have been in Malachite Green even during their service on LNER metals. There was no reference that they were repainted black before returning to the Southern.
Wish I had better data. Does this help ?
Regards,
