Hi all,
I am currently building a couple of Kirk 7mm kits and I plan to sell one of them to fund other things. I would like to finish it as running under BR but I know nothing about post LNER liveries so I have a couple of questions.
Were they painted crimson or maroon when repainted from teak? - I am working on the theory that being parcels stock they didn't get blood and custard?
Would the ends have been painted black as in LNER days or body colour - crimson or maroon?
The last question is what colour was the lettering in BR livery?
Many thanks in advance for any assistance

Re: Diagram 129 Brake van questions
Unlined Crimson under early BR and then Maroon post-1956, both with black ends. Lining on Maroon was a variable feast and to degree depended on which Works carried out the repainting, although unlined is the more probable of the two. Everything from the solebar down black. Body lettering Gill Sans in Straw.
