I'm planning to model some "What-if?" designs in OO gauge and i'd rather start with classes that were actually proposed.

I'm already aware of the P3/P10 tank

If you work your way through the RCTS Locomotives of the LNER series you will find various proposals under the original class descriptions, with further examples in Part 10A. There are also various proposals described in FAS Brown's biography 'Nigel Gresley - Locomotive Engineer'.

There are several interesting proposed designs in RCTS green book part 10.

There was also a proposed 2-8-0 for the West Highland Line. I have never seen a drawing, but is mentioned in Clay & Cliffe's book as having O2 cylinders and a boiler tapering from 5'6 at the firebox to 5'0 at the smokebox.

know any pre-existing models with those boiler dimensions?

I assume it would end up looking for all the world like an LNER equivalent of the GWR Night Owl

I think (guessing) that the West Highland 2-8-0 would have been a tapered boiler version of the B17 body on an O2 chassis with 5'2 wheels.

There were also plans for a Vee-Six version of the D49. Three cylinders either side of the smokebox.

I seem to recall that problems with bevel drive gears halted the idea.

The 'Green Giant' looks superb! Would have needed some flexibility in the wheelbase though.

The model of the 2-8-2T doesn't look right to me. I assume it would have had 4' 8" wheels, in which case there would have been no need for a front splasher. The model in the YouTube clips looks a lot more like I would have envisioned it, with a K3-type front end.

There is another reason why this class was never built - it probably wouldn't have been adequate for the job of hauling loaded coal trains of about 40 wagons (the length of the the trains being decided by the distance between the two level crossings at Lincoln - they weren't both allowed to be open at the same time). First,the braking force of a tank engine is nowhere near that of a tender locomotive. Second, the tanks look awfully inadequate (even with the possible addition of a well tank or a tank under the bunker). That implies frequent stopping for water over a distance of about 75 miles from Mansfield Concentration Sidings to Immingham. The GW 42XX and 72XX 2-8-2Ts had distances of only about 25 miles to cover and even they were known for their thirst.
