Pullman Cars

I was in the North East recently and drove down the coast road from the Tyne to the Wear. I was surprised to see a number of old Pullman Cars being used for a variety of things - some of them pretty ghastly! I'm aware of a couple of cars being used as parts of restaurants at disused railway stations just south of Nottingham and encountered a couple in use on the Kent/East Sussex line while on holiday in that neck of the woods.

It occurred to me - has anyone ever done an inventory of Pullman Cars which are still around in whatever form? Maybe there is such a thing for our area of interest.

I think that a few years back one of the railway mags had an article about them , maybe some body can confirm with even the name of the publication.

In particular there is information in each of the later newsletters about Gresley Pacific worked Pullmans on th LNER and BR(E) supplied by Tommy Knox from his vast database of loco workings.
