Could anybody help, I'm building a model of a J1, 3012, to be exact, which towed a Stirling tender in the 1930's has anyone a picture of the front of one of these tenders please.

Thanks, manna

Good morning all

Which Stirling tender, Manna?

I have seen a pic of a J1 with and old Stirling sandwich frame tender with inside bearings.

Most of the J1's ran with Ivatt type A tenders.

if you show me the photo the loco you want to model, ie is it in Yeadon, then I may well be able to provide the detail, even if only in a drawing.

The picture I'm working off is in the RCTS, 'Green Bible, fig 3, Stirling 'D' type.

Thank you, manna

HI mate, are you scratchbuilding,or is it a kit, ie the London Road one?

Actually, one big problem we found compiling Malcolm's book was finding photos for the fronts of any tenders, bad enough finding rear views

None of the works drawings actually show the tool boxes, seems they were not always in the same place on each loco.

However, if you pm me, I will send you a couple of front end drawings of Stirling tenders that are similar, not the same, since we still do not have access to R19/21.
