How were J37 rods jointed?

Some time back I was the originator of a question about the arrangements for jointing K2 rods, though it was Morgan Gilbert who first thought to raise it for me on this board.
Same question: different class of engine. This time I'm hoping to establish whether the forked part of the joint is located on the leading or trailing section of a J37's coupling rods (and, for that matter, on other North British six-coupled designs).
I have the Yeadon volume that covers this class. Photographs in this lead me to the provisional conclusion that the fork formed part of the trailing rod section. However, I'd be grateful if someone could confirm or refute this for me.
