ex GNR Dia 229 Open Third

Hello,
I have recently bought a Kirk 7mm coach kit labelled 7110/7111 GNR Open Third. With some kind help from Jonathan W and John Smart I now know it is a Dia229 coach with "cantrail ventilation". I have also found a drawing namely Isinglass no162 but have yet to obtain one, it will have to wait until I am back in the UK. I am still looking for info on the prototype especially livery details if they were passed on to BR after 1948. None of my not extensive library can throw any light, does anyone on this Forum know anything about these coaches?

Five open thirds were built to Dia 229 in 1906. The LNER converted two, 43130/1, to buffet cars in 1932 and they were so branded in LNER livery. By 1935 they had become redundant having been replaced by the new standard Buffet Cars and they were returned to service as open thirds once again.

Someone may have a scrapping date but I believe it to be late 40s.

Thank you for your reply. I am sure a small batch of elderly coaches would not have lasted long into BR but I hope there is some evidence of one in BR service even if still retaining LNER livery.
