How many of these were made originally and which locos were they fitted to (apart from the 4 silver ones) before they were altered to achieve higher coal capacity?
Were they all corridor connected?

All four parts of 'Tangle with Tenders' are a useful resource for all A4s

The link in Mercator II's post takes you to the SNG Trust site. You need to navigate to CHIME/Archive/A Tangle of Tenders.

Mel Haig has meticulously researched the A4s and his work can be seen on the SNG Trust Site in Names and Numbers, A Tangle of Tenders and a Bewilderment of Boilers. A very useful resource for anyone who needs to know about the A4s.
