Re: Coridor Tender Drawing
One of the reasons I have shyed away from colour renderings of locomotives is the extreme difficulty in getting colours, lining and lettering right. Although I have hundreds of bus and tram drawings in colour the intricasies of locos has so far put me off although I have done a few locos in BR mixed traffic black to good effect.

Sticky ground all around on this one.EHeaps wrote:I don't want to get into an argument, but...
if you didn't want your drawings to be used in this way, why did you answer my request in the first place?
When I send a drawing out I accept that the recipient will use it for their own purpose, as long as they don't blatantly copy it and sell it on then I'm content.
It would be nice if modellers, kit manufacturers, RTR suppliers and artist would include "with thanks to Isinglass" where appropriate. Some do, some are even evangelical about it! You know who you are and have my thanks.
However I also realise that not all of us have that magc touch yet (that's why there are no new Isinglass drawings), so as long as the modeller/artist is both content with their work and happy to hear suggestions on improving it then I'm happy that the hobby is all the better for their effort.
Regards,
Andy.

I have done the odd one myself, so thought I might see my name up with the great and good! I also used to produce them using gouache, but now use more modern means with the big advantage being that this enables a lot more detail to be included.EHeaps wrote:The only people who ever produced really convincing broadside coloured illustrations of LNER locomotives were Geoffrey Wheeler, David Warner (Profile pubs) and Stuart Black, all of whom I believe worked in gouache.

I can confirm that (in my view) Richard's full size colour poster drawings are an absolute delight. In an uncharacteristic moment of free spending I obtained Cock o'the North. Its quality will be still be appreciated long after the cost has been forgotten.
