Excellent reply, thanks Bracken, but I am still puzzled how an inverted F minor chord can become a diminished chord. I should go for an audience with one really.
Kind regards

Re: 4468's chime whistle
Is it possible that one or more A4s were fitted with a BR 'Britannia' whistle? I have a Doncaster drawing SL-DN-W-818 for such a whistle which states that is for Class 7 and 6 4-6-2, Class 5 4-6-0 and A4 4-6-2, the latter added presumably to be used as a replacement.
According to a sketch measured from one of these whistles the height of each section or chambers are 4-5/8", 5-5/8" and 7-5/8" measured from the base of the cut-outs. Bell outside diameter is 4"
On the other hand the whistle on 60011 measured in Darlington Works (scrap) yard in May 1964 the heights were 7", 8-1/2" and 10-3/16" respectively. Bell was 5-1/8" diameter, somewhat larger than the BR version.
