Back to Dwight D Eisenhower liveries, did it ever wear wartime black, and if so, was it NE or LNER and for what years? From what I can find it didn't get renamed til Sept 1945 when it was repainted in Garter Blue.

The following information is extracted from David Woodward's article in Journal 56 of the LNER Society and 'Locomotives in detail No 3 - Gresley 4-6-2 A4 class':
4496 'Golden Shuttle' renamed 'Dwight D Eisenhower' 25/09/45
renumbered '8' 23/11/46
renumbered '60008' 29/10/48
LNER Black 30/01/42
NE Black 13/03/43
Garter blue 25/09/45
BR Blue 14/06/50
B R Green 09/11/51
Hope this helps
