Flying Scotsman
After being rebuilt as an A3, did Flying Scotsman ever revert to a round dome?

Re: Flying Scotsman
Hi
As far as i know the answer is no....however she was converted to A3 between 18 November 1946-4 January 1947 using boiler number 8078( this can be checked for dome type ) , she may have had a round dome at this time until a further refit a year later between 2 February - 15 March 1948 where it is stated that she was fitted with boiler number 9119 94A with Banjo. She had a number of replacement boilers before being sold to Pegler which are all listed as later type A3 boilers ie banjo domed.
Regards
Pete
