Were Tourist stock ever in Teak livery ? Either way it looks lovely.
Re: A Gresley at Kirkby Stephen
Tourist refers to the type of seating not the exterior outline.
Re: A Gresley at Kirkby Stephen
It is not a tourist stock Gresley carriage in that sense - none of the plywood panelled stock survived into preservation.
'Tourist' in this context means 2+2 seating in the saloon. TTO = Tourist Third Open.
This is one of the Dia 216 Great Eastern Section 52' 6" body length TTOs

BTW, the Stainmore Railway is now running trains on some days, using a Peckett steam tank and a diesel shunter, topping and tailing a Mark One BSK. They hope that next year there will be significant developments, including an extension - and this coach coming into service.

Re: A Gresley at Kirkby Stephen
Didn't realise there were quite as many Gresley coaches around - nice bit of news - thanks for posting.
Re: A Gresley at Kirkby Stephen
Indeed they are.
As an aside this is sister vehicle to 60525 that was owned by the LNER Coach Association but destroyed by fire at Carnforth in 1999. The underframe from this was purchased by Stephen Middleton and currently the accomodation one that the Autocar body currently sits on.

Re: A Gresley at Kirkby Stephen
I wonder what the chances are of a set of teaks being hauled out of Kings Cross again by an LNER liveried Pacific?
That would be something to see!

I know I am biased but I prefer this shot of 910.

Well, it looks as if it was raining, so that's half-way to snowing... But yes, 910 does look better in daylight.
