I fancy doing a model display of the LNER speed record breakers and so the following list comes to mind:
Pre War:
1934: 4472 Flying Scotsman -100mph
1935: 2750 Papyrus - 108mph
1935: 2509 Silver Link - 112.5mph
1936: 2512 Silver Fox - 113mph
1938: 4468 Mallard - 126mph
Post War:
1959: 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley - 112mph
Have I missed any?

Re: LNER Record Breaking Locomotives
Peak speed records are one thing, but the records claimed for Silver Link go far beyond the two 112.5 mph maxima. I believe the distance travelled with speed sustained at 100mph plus was over 41 miles, and that is by some margin a world record for sustained speed with steam; significantly this was achieved on a stretch much nearer net level than the Stoke Bank 'racing ground'. It is rather a shame that no equivalent trial was made with one of the four Kylchap fitted locos when these came into service
