Dear All
please forgive the lack of knowledge, but could anyone please advise as to what would be the standard composition of coaching stock on this line?
I have various images between one and five coaches, apart from Race Days at Redcar, and would be good to appreciate if there was a norm, and if so whch coaches formed the standard configuration?
Also, could anyone please advise as to when the livery changed over between the red & cream, to complete crimson or similar.
Many thanks

Re: BR Coaching Stock on the Whitby Redcar & Middlesbrough L
12:00 Whitby-Middlesborough in Summer 1956 was BS(4), CL(3-4), BS(4) - so two 4-compartment brake seconds and a lavatory composite with 3 first and 4 second class compartments. These were LNER-design, and may well have been the post-war 'Thompson' stock.
This was one of 10 sets in West Hartlepool Link A. On some workings various other vehicles were added, mostly Seconds.
Not sure exactly which services you are interested in or which year. Redcar itself was not the starting point for any regular services in Summer 1956 for example.
