Not certain what you are looking at. I have checked photos of both vehicles and they both have a horizontal panel ABOVE the windows. The panels either side of the windows are vertical to the cornice.

There are some errors on the LNERCA sub but not in that area.

Many thanks Mike - It's a combination of my eyes and the piccies.

A horizontal panel above the windows there will be. Prototype vehicle in the paintshop as we speak....
