NER electric locomotive EF1

Post by ricketrider »

Hi, does anybody know if the buffer beams on the EF1s were riveted or bolted together? They look like a laminated construction of either steel plates or steel and wood. I have a book with several photographs but none are detailed enough to show whether they are bolt heads or rivet heads on the front face. Is there any detailed photographs or drawings available of this locomotive class? I am struggling for pantograph detail too.
Kind regards,

Alan

The class EF1s had bufferbeams consisting of a steel/wood/steel sandwich and the whole lot was bolted together.
