A4 Nameplates
Were the nameplates removed from the A4s when they got directors names thrust upon them reused when new build A1s took on some of the displaced names. Or were new plates cast?

G'Day Gents
Wouldn't surprise me if they were dumped in an old dusty shed for a few years, but being that it was wartime !!!!

Re: A4 Nameplates
The 4 A1's which carried former A4 names appear to be Osprey,Kestrel, Peregrine & Sea Eagle.
Would be very surprised if they did not carry newly cast plates, if only because A4 & A1 plate dimensions differed considerably...
Cheers

Re: A4 Nameplates
The A1s had new plates - for several reasons. The original plates were probably recycled due to wartime and of course the intention was not to name the A1s originally, only the BTC had a change of heart and a list of suitable names was drawn up.

I read the question but for some reason it just didn't make sense, strange.

Re: A4 Nameplates
no worries we all have senior moments. Althought the question could have been phrased a little more carefully.
