The bell on 4489 Dominion of Canada
Could anyone tell me how the bell on 4489 Dominion of Canada came to be damaged? Was it the result of a collision or did it just get stuck during operation?

The bell was certainly isolated after it was tolled upon leaving Kings Cross but the crew couldn't shut the supply off before York in approximately 1938.
The bell was removed upon fitting with a double chimney in the 1950s.

I believe that i heard on a dvd on the A4s that no.60010 in later B.R. days wasn't a popular loco amongst footplate crews and didn't have a regular crew a signed to her.
