A riddle of sorts . . . Cromer to N. Walsham via Mundsley

Post by tommyg1992 »

My question for you is as follows .. .

I am modelling a model of Cromer Beach Station with a few modellers allterations with you will

The MGN built a line that ran between Cromer and thier North Walsham station via Mundsley and I know that in 1954 part of that line was closed with the closure of Cromer high and all traffic moving to Cromer Beach and in 1954 an N7 from Norwich was used on this service

after the closure of the line beyhond Mundsley would the service of then changed to running down the GER line to North Walsham and then up to Mundsley or just as far as North Walsham

the other half of my question is which loco would of pulled this service if the setting was 1955 Derby Lightweights or one of the L1s, V3s or V1s based at Norwich

It may not directly help answer your question(s) but have you got or seen a copy of The District Controller's View No. 12 The Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway. It has a lot of detailed info on workings at Cromer Beach.

If you live in Norfolk the County Library have a copy.
