rare model ?

Post by talbotvanman »

Im not sure about model railway discussion on this site maybe someone can steer
me in the right direction? I am about to renew my interest in modeling at age 77!!
forty or more years ago I started a layout for my son with the purchase of a used
"Golden Fleece Talisman" I have seen reference to The Talisman but no mention of
the Golden Fleece. I read many years ago that this was a limited number boxed set
sold by Hornby. I only have the engine/tender and three Talisman coaches (vgc)
Nevertheless could it be collectable? Anyone help me :?: :)
ps engine no is 60030

On the Modelfair website there are a couple of B rated Golden Fleece locos available at £140 each, so I would imagine if you have the coaches as well you would be looking at £200+ depending on condition.

Post should really be in the model railways section. Your best bet is probably www.hrca.net, the Hornby Railways Collectors Association.
