Green Arrow in trouble???

Post by x568wcn »

Don't know if anyone has heard the story of the first female fireman on the main line, had her first trip on Green Arrow today http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nort ... 780153.stm
Don't think it has any bearing on this story though!

She went up fine (according to loacal BBC news a few minutes late) came back 45 mins late, I didn't notice too much steam, the support coach was at the front (normally left where it is so comes back on the back....but family say it didn't go up with it, at the back on the way down was the DREADED DIESEL!!!!

Might find out more at the weekend

Yes, but my main point was it came back with the Diesel at the back, when it went up without it!

A post on the National Preservation says the problem was a 'hot axle box'.

*Sighs*
The Railtour was from Kings Cross, supposed to be 71000, but changed to a diesel due to Fire Risk, so infact was only steam hauled from Doncaster with 60800.
