I was initially responding to a post on FB where they said it was the Bluebell saloon. But like some others on here I can remember their saloon being parked at the wood green end and outside the coronation shed on the ECML and the ends, sides and with no clerestory roof it doesn't match up?

If you look at some of the other interior photos, they may be of the Bluebell coach, but the exterior photo certainly is not. Still would not mind knowing what it is though.

I can remember seeing the said coach parked in the Coronation shed in the early 70's, it is (was ?) owned by a member of this parish, Hitchin, HQ 1, although he hasn't been active for a few years.

The Vintage Carriage Trust Rolling Stock list is here. It only brings up 3 saloons and none of them look much like this one. Does it still exist?

GNR No 321 as Loco Engineer's Saloon, later Chief Mechanical Engineer's Saloon. Unfortunately no build date.
Rebuilt in 1930 and renumbered 43801

The Carriage at the Bluebell is the ex Directors saloon, which was coupled to the converted D3 2000 when it was in use as the
Directors specialised loco. It later became BR 62000. It had previously been 4075.
The carriage being portrayed in the photos, seems to be an ex Howlden 45ft saloon converted.

The vehicle in the original post is GNR Dia 45E, it started life as 6 wheel Luggage 3rd Saloon originally built in 1889 at Doncaster. It was rebuilt as shown in the Diagrams and photo attached as the Locomotive Engineers Saloon as GNR Dia 45E with the vehicle No 321L, denoting it as part of the Locomotive Department stock, as rebuilt it rode on Fox Bogies.
During the LNER period it was rebuilt again in 1930, still retaining its GNR Diagram No 45E but being allocated the LNER Code of 4024, during the rebuild I am assuming it gained the Gresley 8' 6" bogies. Interestingly, the vehicle diagram did not show the added central window as can be seen in the photos. The general layout of the side view in the photos confirms that it is the Diagram 45E.
During the LNER period it was allocated vehicle no 43801 and later in the BR period 942590.
