LNER brake van lamp configurations?

Post by Nova »

I've just obtained one of Hornby's stunning Toad Bs, and I'm wondering if the 'L'-shaped configuration of lamp irons on the ends purtained to designating different types of freight trains. The duplicated side lamp irons and built in duel-directional lamps had me purplexed as well.

Any information regarding the usage of the different side lamps as well as positioning of lamps on the end would be much appreciated (it's going on an unfitted coal train, if that helps)

Nova,
You might find answers in this past thread (link below), which IIRC, covered more than one facet of brake van characteristics and operations : - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=12221&hilit=Tail+lamps .
