Can you help me remember where i saw a reference to a trip on a V4 while they were still in England. I must have read the book 30 years ago and sure it was someone's memoirs. The bit i recall was how pleased they were it was a V4 on the train and not a poor V2, although a good V 2 would have been a different story. Think it was only one paragraph on what a great engine the V 4 was, so it is a bit of a long shot.
I have tried the more obvious candidates Hardy, Fiennes but no luck. Any help would save me further hours of trawling google
