V4 experience

Post by 4903 »

Can any one help me locate a book i remember reading 20 years ago. It was some one's memoirs i think and it made reference to a ride on a v4, i think Bantem Cock, whilst it was on still in England. I can't recall if it was at York or in East anglia, but think probably the former as the paragraph i remember said they were glad it was a v4 on the journey rather than a poor v2 and priaing the v4's performance. A good v2 would have been another matter...

I have tried the more obvious books, Hardy, Fiennes. Does anyone recall which book it was?
