Longer items

Not so much a suggestion, more of a question.

One of the thread topics reminded me of a piece I wrote for my local railway society. But at 4500 words or so I didn't think I could just post it.

Should there be a place in the forums for longer pieces? I could, for instance, place it in the appropriate section as a new topic. (It's a reminiscence, btw, not a more learned item that might go elsewhere on the site - nor is it exclusively LNER, come to that.)

I'd be happy to read items of such a length with a story to tell.

It does sound like it might be better for the forums (or a related area) rather than the "articles".

I guess one solution might be to add a new section where I manually add pages for such items, and then have a link to a forum thread for any discussion.

Thanks, richard. I agree it's definitely unsuitable as an article.

Shall I just start a new thread under General Railway Chat? Presumably you can always delete it if it's too unwieldy.

Sure - general railway chat would be for non-LNER items.

We are getting more reminiscence articles, so maybe we are getting close to need a new topic. (I don't think we should have too many folders, so I'm always reluctant to add new folders)
