You may have noticed the new logo which has now been implemented for the site. You may not see it due to your browser cache, but it will appear when your cache is renewed.
The plan was to use the new logo for the "favicon", but it will not shrink in a "clean" manner without looking like a dark blue splodge. The "favicon" is the icon used by your browser in the URL bar, on the page tab, in your bookmarks, etc. It is small (16 pixels wide) and should be simple. The site's favicon is currently a rail cross-section. A good railway icon, but not LNER specific.
Does anyone have any ideas for an alternative? Or is this a case of changing something just for the sake of it?

My web designer sent the favicon - basically the oval without the text.
I've added it for some of the pages - see attachment. Browsers tend to rarely look for favicon updates, so you might not see it for a few days/weeks.
I'm undecided.
