Apologies if you've already thought of this, but when you launch the redesign, can we have a link back to the home page from the forum pages? Unless I'm being quite stupid and not seeing it, I don't beileve there is one. I come directly to the forum pages and so I have to edit the URL if I then want to go back to the rest of the site.

Click the logo, that will take you back to the home page.

"Click on the logo to get back home" is a fairly standard thing. This isn't the first time it has come up - I shall make it more obvious.
