New Logo

New graphic designer (the previous one went quiet), and I have some initial logo treatments:
http://www.icons-custom.com/lner/lner_logo.html
What do people think?
Of these options, I'm thinking the colours of #3 and the font of #4.
Or another option might be to try and use the original (1920s) font with the colours of #3.
I'm going to try and get a quick turnaround on this, so I shall be giving my final decision in only a few days.

I like the current logo better than any of those, frankly, Richard.
The current logo in blue might be nice.

Same comment from me as well.
"If it aint broke why fix it"
None of the other logos impress me to any extent.

I don't like the almost fluorescent green of the current one. Simplicity has something going for it though...
(also this is the first stage in the graphical redesign of the website)

I have to agree with the other two comments I'm afriad Richard. IIRC wasn't the logo a mid blue during LNER days so why not change the colour of it instead of completly scrapping the currnet design?

along side the other comments, why not use Gill Sans, that may help appease the effect.

Hello Richard,
I have to say I like the current logo, simple and instantly identifiable-it looks authentic to the LNER era and yet up to date, wheras I think all the new samples are over-elaborate and not so authentic.I do see your point about the shade of green but overall it all works-I think the current colour and logo are just what the LNER would be using now had the Big Four survived!

Here's a quick change to blue, that I've done myself.

Thanks - the blue is a bit darker (I guessed it 'on the fly' for the above).
I'll see what I can get together, or pass it on to my graphic designer.
I just hope we get a good and usable web design out of this

Here's an improved version:

I think this is the best so far - it looks right and is smarter than the 'fluorescent' green version I currently have.
