The price that's been quoted, I wouldn't imagine many people will be buying them although it would be nice to have one or two.
Effectively you are buying a handbuilt locomotive. Compare the price of the NUCast kit,(if you can get one), motor, wheels, gears, build and paint, and you'll be surprised!
OO works sell all they produce, and very rarely appear secondhand. When they do, they sell above original list. Usual story I guess, I want that Rolls Royce, but only want to pay for a Reliant Robin.

What are the pick-up arrangements please? Just the drivers, or from the bogie/pony as well?

Morning all
I was not complaining about the price, most of the kits that I build cost around that. I enjoy building locos, so R-T-R models remove over 50% of my pleasure in modelling. However, they were lined black in LNER days until 1942, when they became plain black with LNER abbreviated to NE. They were renumbered in 1946. The incorrect livery would disappoint me if I collected R-T-R models.
I am pleased that suppliers are producing pre-grouping models, may they produce many more. A D2, D9, D20, J3, J10, J21, N1, N5, N8, would all be useful locos for anyone who models north of Peterborough.

G'day all
LOL.....AR
The NBR and GNSR seem neglected by the major suppliers. I know little about their locos, but the Glens were good looking locos, and could go well with the K4 and V4, or a NBR 4-4-2T chugging alongside St Andrews 17th green.
The GER also had some interesting locos.

52D: I shall be very interested indeed to see if and how a C15 develops. Although I'm up to the eyes in NG stuff right now (having earlier put some effort into a bunch of ECML heavy goods locos), I most certainly have NOT forgotten my more-than-intention to make progress with a cut-down Haymarket depot. So far as I know, the C16s (and presumably C15s as and if any of those previously frequented the Lothians) lived at St Margarets and sub-sheds. But I wouldn't let pedantry get in the way of a good loco-build. So, if you were to pioneer that C15 (elegant machine) you might well find a follower in due course. Not sure, however, that I could bring myself to cannibalise one of 00 Works' efforts at the price, and in the knowledge that they're hand-made (albeit no doubt in batches of more than 1 or 2).
at the risk of blowing the trumpet too hard, for the kit builder don't forget London Road Models have
a D2, D4, J3 and N1 available as well as the square tank C12. let alone the J6 and the various tenders.

Pickups are the 4 drivers and the 4 front bogie wheels. The bogie wheel pickups are a particularly neat bit of engineering.
Its good to know where you stand. Saves making a fool of yourself later......
Excuse my Ignorance of things at the South end of the ECML but what are the two "Y" shaped brackets on the tank for. Apart from that query its a nice looking model.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
Fire iron brackets. they have something similar on GC tenders. must say they look a little overscale, and not sure they would be brass finished in Black!!!
If you have Vol 7 RCTS Green books, LNERlocos, there are 3 or 4 photos fig 47-54 show them quite nicely.
Like the model very much indeed. Pity I cannot justify it. Mind you, I reckon I'd justify a Swedish E/F class pacific at the price.... Just for contrast with the Gresley descendance.
